Jones was represented in his motion by an attorney appointed by CPCS, John J. On October 23, 2015, Jones filed a third motion for post-conviction relief, this time based on new evidence developed with support from the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) Innocence Program.
His first two new trial motions, in 19, were both rejected by the Massachusetts courts.
Jones’ conviction was affirmed on direct appeal.
